Akim Camara is a German-born child prodigy who began playing the violin at only 2 years old. The young violinist had his first performance at age 3 when the Marzahn-Hellersdorf School of Music put on their Christmas concert, "Schneeflockchen, Weissrockchen" in 2003. With that performance, people realized Camara's true talents.
Birgit Thiele, his violin teacher, and the music school principal, Gudrun Mueller, reached out to a celebrity Dutch violinist by the name of Andre Rieu. Rieu quickly realized Camara's incredible skill and simply had to invite Camara to perform with him. In 2007, the two showcased a spectacular performance of "Dance of the Fairies" at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
