We have had cases of Hollywood celebrities who have declared their Christian faith, some going as far as being born again but may not have express the Christian values or contradict their Christian life with their actions but here are 8 celebrities you didn’t know are devoted born again Christians in Hollywood.
Chuk Norris
Actor Chuck Norris is a born again Christian and he has written several Christian books. He supports incorporating Bible studies into public schools.
Kirk Cameron
Kirk Cameron became a born-again Christian when he was 17 years old. He has left mainstream Hollywood behind him, as he now focuses his energy and talent on Christian projects. He has said, “Put your nose into the Bible everyday. It is your spiritual food. And then share it. Make a vow not to be a lukewarm Christian.”
Hugh Jackman
Many know Hugh Jackman grew up in a Christian home after his father gave his life to Jesus through a Billy Graham crusade. Until recently, it was believed that he did not share his father’s faith, until an interview with Parade Magazine published on October 21st. When asked about when he first knew he wanted to be an actor, Hugh Jackman responded, “I’m a Christian. I was brought up very religious. I used to go to different evangelists’ [revival] tents all the time. When I was about 13, I had a weird premonition that I was going to be onstage, like the preachers I saw.”
Denzel Washington
Denzel Washington may be known for his starring role in movie such as “American Gangster”, “Remember the Titans” and “Training Day” but he his also a devoted Christian. He said in an interview; “he said in an interview, “I read from the Bible every.” He made headlines when he appeared as the guest speaker for Dillard University’s graduating class in 2015. Instead of delivering the standard “the world is your oyster” speech, Washington encouraged graduates to “put God first.”
Chris Tucker
In 1997, after the filming of Money Talks, Comedian and actor Chris Tucker became a devout born-again Christian. In 2005, Tucker was pulled over for going 109 mph and attempting to allude law enforcement in Georgia. He later apologized and gave the reason for speeding. He said he was running late for church.
Candace Cameron Bure
Sister to Kirk Cameron, Candace Cameron Bure became born again at a young age but her success in the movie industry later distracted her. After watching left behind and reading a book “The Way of the Master” given to her by her brother, her walk with God changed forever. With an acting career that started at the age of five, Candace grew up in show business alongside her brother Kirk Cameron and has appeared in countless national television commercials, prime-time hits, made for t.v. movies and feature films. She is mostly known to millions worldwide from her role as “D.J. Tanner” on the iconic family sitcom “Full House.”
Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow is an American football star who is not ashamed of the testimony of a life lived for Jesus Christ. He is a Christian in the biblical sense of the word. Not paying mere lip service, but backing up his words with the actions of a life being lived for God. He has brought the Lord he has served all his life along with him to the 50 yard line, and the world all of a sudden is getting a dose of the old-fashioned Gospel. When his mom was pregnant with him, complications arose and she was urged, at the risk of her own life, to not bring the baby to term, but to abort it. She chose to trust God, and Tim Tebow was born. He proudly displays bible verses on the field.
Stephen Baldwin
Baldwin, became a born-again Christian after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Formerly known as a Hollywood bad-boy and the youngest of the renowned Baldwin brothers acting family. He is now referred to as Hollywood Jesus Freak. He said; “When I decided to become a Christian, it was a full-on, gloves-off, throw-down, kick-boxing match between me and God.” He is an actor and producer. He was amongst the cast of the Christian movie “I’m in Love with a Church Girl”. He once sent a message to Rihanna via Twitter, which he said was inspired by the Holy Ghost.
