Syrian Christians pray for peace as fears increase that ceasefire will crumble

Christians in Syria are now praying for peace amid fears that the ceasefire that took effect on Monday appears to be crumbling.
In a statement to Agenzia Fides, Bishop George Abou Khazen O.F.M., the Apostolic Vicar of Aleppo for the Catholics of the Latin rite, conveyed the feelings of the people living in the city's central area. The religious leader said no one believes that the U.S. airstrike on a barrack, which killed at least 90 Syrian soldiers, was an accident.
The truce which began on Monday seems to be on the point of failing. Even last night we heard the government aviation raids on area in the hands of rebels," Khazen told Fides. "And certainly, no one here believes that the massacre of Syrian soldiers caused by the US bombing on a barrack was a mistake."
Bishop Khazen said the deadly airstrike "seems to confirm the ambiguity of the U.S. choice" and the suspicions that the U.S. is the one that created the Islamic State (ISIS). The strike could not have been a mistake and that barracks was not there the day before it was struck, he added.
Meanwhile, a United Nations (UN) aid convoy was hit in Aleppo on Monday as the ceasefire brokered by the U.S. and Russia came to an end. The military's announcement regarding the end of the ceasefire came in the wake of the U.S.-led coalition's airstrike over the weekend which killed many Syrian troops, USA Today reports.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 32 people have been killed in airstrikes in Aleppo and in other areas held by rebels. This number includes 12 people in an aid convoy.
U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby said the U.S. is prepared to extend the truce in Syria. He also criticized Syrian forces and their Russian allies for targeting aid convoys in attacks.

Kindly Pray for Peace in Syria !... \

Thanks...
